About Kutchenhaus
At Kutchenhaus we believe great kitchens start with great relationships. Led by James Nicholson, our specialist team offer a welcoming, knowledgeable and genuinely personal kitchen design and installation service to homeowners across North and Central London. We understand how much thought and trust goes into a kitchen project – and we’re here to make that process simple, enjoyable and seamless from start to finish.
As part of the successful Kutchenhaus franchise, James manages three convenient showroom locations in Swiss Cottage, Islington and Hampstead Garden. A family-run business, he is supported by his wife and father who are both part of the day-to-day running of the company. In turn, this allows James to remain closely involved in every project we undertake.
Over a Decade of Kitchen Expertise
Prior to opening his first Kutchenhaus showroom location in Hampstead Garden, James spent many years working in the kitchen industry where he gained valuable experience across a variety of design and retail businesses. But over the years, he became increasingly frustrated with the disjointed service many customers experienced – from being passed between departments to dealing with delayed or poorly managed installations.
James felt strongly there had to be a better way. So, with a clear focus on service, quality and transparency, he set out to build a design-led business where customers feel supported from the first consultation to the final fitting.
Today, his partnership with Kutchenhaus, backed by Europe’s largest kitchen manufacturer Nobilia, offers the perfect solution: high-quality German kitchens at an affordable price point, and with complete flexibility in both design and service.

At Kutchenhaus, we’ve built a hand-picked team of experienced kitchen designers – including three with architecture degrees – who care deeply about getting the details right. And we don’t believe in pushy sales or rushed appointments. Instead, we take the time to listen, understand your needs, and guide you through every decision with clarity and care.
When you visit one of our showrooms, you’ll feel this difference straight away. There’s a relaxed atmosphere, plenty of space to explore, and real working kitchens that we use every day.
